Satellites Page
The satellites page is where you manage what Pi-Sat tracks and inspect the data attached to those satellites.
Related pages:
This page has two main jobs:
- manage the tracked satellite list
- inspect details for one selected satellite
The add-satellite area exists so you can choose which satellites Pi-Sat should include in:
- the next-pass list
- autotrack behavior
- live satellite detail lookups
Pi-Sat is intentionally centered around your selected working set, not every satellite in the source data.
The tracked list controls what appears elsewhere in the app.
Changing this list affects:
- dashboard next-pass results
- autotrack candidates
- map page plotted tracked-satellite set
- per-satellite detail views
When you click a tracked satellite, the details area shows:
- known frequency profiles
- known upcoming passes for that satellite
This gives you a per-satellite view without cluttering the dashboard.
The frequency-profile list exists so you can inspect what operating modes are known for that satellite.
This is useful when:
- deciding which profile to use on the dashboard
- verifying whether a satellite is RX-only or RX/TX
- checking modes and labels after a profile refresh
The per-satellite pass list helps you inspect one satellite’s schedule independent of the mixed dashboard pass list.
This is useful when:
- planning around one specific satellite
- checking whether TLE data looks correct for that target
- comparing future opportunities for the same satellite
