Satellites Page

The satellites page is where you manage what Pi-Sat tracks and inspect the data attached to those satellites.

What This Page Does

This page has two main jobs:

  • manage the tracked satellite list
  • inspect details for one selected satellite

Add Satellite Section

The add-satellite area exists so you can choose which satellites Pi-Sat should include in:

  • the next-pass list
  • autotrack behavior
  • live satellite detail lookups

Pi-Sat is intentionally centered around your selected working set, not every satellite in the source data.

Tracked Satellite List

The tracked list controls what appears elsewhere in the app.

Changing this list affects:

  • dashboard next-pass results
  • autotrack candidates
  • map page plotted tracked-satellite set
  • per-satellite detail views

Satellite Details Area

When you click a tracked satellite, the details area shows:

  • known frequency profiles
  • known upcoming passes for that satellite

This gives you a per-satellite view without cluttering the dashboard.

Frequency Profiles

The frequency-profile list exists so you can inspect what operating modes are known for that satellite.

This is useful when:

  • deciding which profile to use on the dashboard
  • verifying whether a satellite is RX-only or RX/TX
  • checking modes and labels after a profile refresh

Pass List for the Selected Satellite

The per-satellite pass list helps you inspect one satellite’s schedule independent of the mixed dashboard pass list.

This is useful when:

  • planning around one specific satellite
  • checking whether TLE data looks correct for that target
  • comparing future opportunities for the same satellite
