Goal Ladder v1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Sep 06:24

What's new

  • Long ladders scroll inside their card. A ladder with dozens of steps used to stretch its card down the page and push every other card out of view. Cards now stop at a sensible height and the steps scroll within the card, with a soft fade at whichever edge has more to see. The rest of the page stays where it is.
  • The current step stays in view. A long card opens scrolled to the step you are on, with the last reached step just above it. Reaching a step keeps the next one in view, and adding a step to the end scrolls down to show it.

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Sep 17:15

First release.

A small desktop app for goals that lead to other goals. Write down what you are working toward and, if it leads somewhere, what comes after it. Only the next step is in focus. Later steps stay visible but locked until you reach the one before. No dates, no reminders, no accounts. Everything stays on your machine.

Linux needs webkit2gtk 4.1; the packages declare it. The Linux binary is built on Ubuntu 22.04, so it runs on anything from that age onward.

What's in it

  • Ladders of steps where each one unlocks the next, or a single step for a plain goal
  • The current step shown large with a one-click Reached it button, reached steps ticked, later steps padlocked
  • Undo from the toast or from the last ticked step
  • Type a whole ladder on one line with -> and it splits into steps
  • Add steps to the top of any ladder at any time, including finished ones
  • Optional ladder names, reordering, and a Completed section for finished ladders
  • Saves are written safely with the previous version kept as a backup
  • No accounts, no sync, no tracking

Known limits

  • No AppImage yet; use the tarball on distros without deb, rpm or pacman.
  • Windows builds are from the GitHub runner and lightly tested. Report anything odd.
  • macOS isn't built.
