DW2-PC v0.1.3
The game now tells you when a new version is out.
You need your own copy of the game. The downloads contain no game data. On the first start
the port checks your disc image (USA, SLUS-01193) and builds its data pack from it. Updating from
an older version: unpack over the old folder; your saves, settings and data pack stay.
New
- Update check: at start, before anything else, the game asks GitHub whether a newer release
exists (it waits at most 3 seconds). If there is one, a box asks "Update found": Yes opens the
download page and closes the game so you can unpack the new version over the old folder;
"No, play now" starts the game. The title screen and the F1 window also show the new version,
with a button to the download page. Nothing is downloaded or installed by the game. - Switch it off in F1 > Game ("Check for updates at start") or with
--no-update-check. The
check sends GitHub the same kind of request a web browser does (your IP address, the program
name and version), nothing else. On Linux it uses the system's libcurl if it is installed. --versionprints the version.
This is the first version with the check, so v0.1.2 and older will not tell you about this
release. From now on, new versions show up by themselves.
