What's new in 3.1
UFC 5 (PS5) — more FPS in fights, for everyone
The engine options that gave the most fight FPS on the reference PC (Ryzen 5 5500 + RTX 4060) are now everyone's
default. Fights went from 15–19 FPS to 18–27 FPS, with fewer drops:
- Console floating-point mode (the PS5's own mode for the game's threads: physics and animation math stays on the
fast path); - Memory protection in 256 KB runs (far fewer page faults in a fight, the biggest cost in the logs);
- The engine's own CPU cores for its hot threads;
- 2 shader translation threads (more CPU left for the fight itself);
- "Above normal" priority ("high" could take CPU time from the graphics driver).
Automatic calibration is now off by default: it played half of its test fights with an option turned off, just to
compare. You can still turn it on by hand. Parallel stage preparation stays off (fights were slower with it).
Existing installs get all of this once, automatically. UFC 5 launcher: v1.10.0.
Old processors — light mode in every UFC
PORTHEON now recognizes older CPUs and uses the light mode even when they have many threads:
- CPUs without AVX2: Intel Core 3rd generation and older (i3/i5/i7 2xxx/3xxx), AMD FX / Phenom / older APUs,
most Pentium and Celeron; - Ryzen 1000, 2000 and 3000 (Zen, Zen+, Zen 2).
What they get:
- UFC 1–4: weak-PC profile, PS4 Pro mode off, at most 60 FPS, crowd off in UFC 2–4 (+5–10 FPS);
- UFC 5: weak-PC profile.
Games you already set up by hand only get the CPU-easing part (Pro off, up to 60 FPS, crowd off), once. The PC
summary in PORTHEON shows "old processor (light mode)".
Game status
| Game | Port | Status |
|---|---|---|
| UFC 1 (2014) | native (SacredFire / bbport + shadPS4) | Playable, test build. Menus at 60 FPS, fights at the game's own 30. The NVIDIA fight crash ("code 3") is fixed since 3.0. Some short hitches in fights. Online does not work. |
| UFC 2 | native | Playable, test build. 60 FPS. Create Fighter crash fixed. The 60+ FPS community patch can make fights run fast: go back to 30 if it does. Online does not work. |
| UFC 3 | native (based on GNSB's port) | The most complete. Fights at any frame rate, up to 120/144 FPS on a strong PC. Two or more controllers. Online over the Internet is experimental. |
| UFC 4 | native | Playable. 60 FPS recommended (higher rates can break UFC 4). Two or more controllers, ReShade works. Online does not work. |
| UFC 5 (PS5) | KytyPS5 emulator | BETA. Starts and fights work, but see below. |
⚠️ UFC 5: BETA, still in development
- Not a native port yet. It runs through a PS5 emulator (KytyPS5) bundled with PORTHEON. A fully native version
(AnyPS5) is being tested and is not in this package. - FPS: 20–30 FPS in fights on a Ryzen 5 5500 + RTX 4060 (18–27 in the 3.1 tests, rising as the shader cache
fills). Menus run at 60. Walkouts drop to 15–22 FPS for 30–60 seconds. - The CPU is the limit, not the GPU. The graphics card already draws everything; the game's own code can only
run on the processor. A faster CPU gets more FPS (on AM4, a Ryzen 7 5700X3D/5800X3D is the best upgrade). - Slow motion: below 30 FPS the game itself runs in slow motion. On a 6-core CPU this still happens in parts of
a fight. Raising the 60 Hz cap does not help: fights get slower at 120/144 Hz. - The first fights stutter more while shaders are built and cached. Play a few fights in different arenas.
- Black screens and crashes are fewer but can still happen. Tested on few PCs (NVIDIA); AMD and Intel GPUs are
barely tested. Online untested. Linux / Steam Deck experimental. - Found a problem? Click Logs in PORTHEON and send the newest log.
