Open action does nothing (double-click, Enter, context menu and toolbar), while the "Read" button works #573

Description

@Job76

Hi,

I believe I have found a bug in YACReaderLibrary 10.1.0.260703260 on Windows.

Environment:

  • Windows 10 Pro (fully updated)
  • Latest YACReader 10.1.0 downloaded from the official website (.exe installer)
  • Fresh reboots & reinstalled
  • Latest NVIDIA drivers
  • No portable installation

Problem:

The "Read" button at the top of the information panel works correctly and opens the selected comic in YACReader.

However, every other way of opening a comic does absolutely nothing:

  • Double-click on a comic
  • Press Enter
  • Right-click -> Open
  • Toolbar "Open" button
  • Rebinding the Open shortcut (for example Ctrl+O)

None of these actions launch YACReader.

YACReader.exe does not appear in Task Manager when using these actions.

The problem occurs for every comic in the library.

Additional information:

  • YACReader itself works correctly.
  • I can start YACReader manually from Windows.
  • I can double-click any CBZ/CBR file in Windows Explorer and it opens correctly in YACReader.
  • If I leave YACReader running and try to open a comic from YACReaderLibrary, nothing happens.
  • The "Read" button still works even while YACReader is already running.
  • The problem is identical in both Cover View and List View.
  • The keyboard shortcut is correctly assigned to "Open Comic", but triggering it has no effect.

Expected behaviour:

Any Open action (double-click, Enter, context menu, toolbar button, keyboard shortcut) should behave exactly like clicking the "Read" button.

Actual behaviour:

Only the "Read" button opens the selected comic. All other Open actions do nothing.

Is this a known issue in 10.1.x, or is there anything I can test to help diagnose it?
