Changes

  • Sound on iPhone and iPad (#249). The game ran without sound on iOS, though the sound setting was on.
    • Cause: on iOS the launcher and the game run in one app, which can open only one sound output. The launcher kept its output open after its last click sound, so the game's output could not open.
    • Fix: the launcher now closes its sound output just before the game starts.
    • Diagnosis: game.log now names the sound output the game opened, or the error if it couldn't open one. On iOS it also logs the audio session and the speaker or headphones in use.

Everything else is the same as v0.10.22.

Validation

  • iOS: checked in the iOS Simulator (iPad Pro 11"). The launcher's output blocked the game's, and with the fix the game's output opens and plays. Not tested on a real iPhone or iPad, so please tell us in #249 whether you hear the game now.
  • AYN Thor, this release's APK: Dolphin Resort at full speed (0.999, 60 fps), all 455 pipelines prepared.
  • Windows x64 package, Vulkan, with the validation layer: a whole race, no validation errors, all 455 pipelines.
  • macOS (M1) package: a whole Dolphin Resort race at full speed.
  • Unit tests: 170 passed on Linux. GitHub Actions builds and tests passed on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android.

  • Windows x64: download and extract the Windows ZIP; run FreeRidersRecompiled.exe.
  • Linux x64: download and extract the Linux archive; run FreeRidersRecompiled.
  • Android 10 or later: prefer android10-arm64.apk.
  • Android 9: use android-arm64.apk.
  • Android version code: 71. The companion licence archive applies to both APKs.
  • macOS (Apple Silicon): download and extract the macOS ZIP; open FreeRidersRecompiled.app (right-click › Open the first time).
  • iOS: ios-arm64.ipa, to install with your own sideloading tool.
  • Online server: docker pull ghcr.io/yuutatsubasa/free-riders-server:0.10.23
  • Checksums: SHA256SUMS.txt.

Use your own game disc image. No game data, private saves or test overrides are included.

Known limitations
