Changes

  • Air tricks on side jumps: spinning the stick in the air raises a side jump's rating again. Since v0.5.2 a spin stopped counting as lean, which kept the rating at the one the jump took off with. That change was meant to stop Rocky Ridge's side jumps from carrying riders off the course, but the real cause of that was fixed in v0.5.3.
  • Touch pause menu (Issue #6): on touch screens the on-screen stick turns the pause menu's wheel. Before, it stayed a lean stick while the race was paused.

Validation

  • Tests: CTest 141/141.
  • Windows package: completed race checks on D3D12 (Frozen Forest) and Vulkan (Dolphin Resort).
  • Linux package: passed a Vulkan startup smoke test in WSL.
  • Android: the APKs keep the existing signing certificate and 16 KB-compatible libraries.
  • Not checked yet: the side-jump rating and the touch pause menu need a player and a touch device, so they have not been confirmed in play.

Known limitations

  • Being investigated (Issue #47):
    • a rare freeze of a few seconds;
    • a brief audio crackle;
    • a character occasionally saying a winning line after losing.
  • Mali GPUs: only the graphics start-up has been checked on Mali GPUs.
  • From v0.5.0:
    • lighting has not been compared with the Xbox 360;
    • split-screen two-player and full Grand Prix progression are not verified with the new runtime;
    • no camera motion inference on Linux or Android;
    • performance varies by device.
