Chunk Compass v0.9.0
Chunk Compass v0.9.0
- Smoother movement — the biome and structure layers now render over a large
buffered area and are only regenerated when you leave that area (or zoom).
Panning around within it just shifts the already-drawn map, so the repeated
stop-hitches are gone. - Waypoint search + category filter — a "Find" box filters the waypoint list
by name, and a category dropdown filters by category. The waypoint dialog's
Category field now autocompletes categories you've already used. - Filter as you type — the structure toggle list and the biome-highlight
list each have a filter box that narrows the list as you type. - Right-click to add a waypoint — right-click anywhere on the map and choose
"Create waypoint here" (still available via the Add button too). - Sulfur Caves added to the biome list (a 26.2 underground biome). Note: the
world-gen engine only models up to 1.21.4 and can't generate 26.2's new biomes
yet, so Sulfur Caves is listed but won't actually appear/highlight on the map
until the engine adds 26.2 support.

Chunk Compass v0.8.0
Chunk Compass v0.8.0
Fixes and improvements from testing:
- Auto-updater now closes Chunk Compass before the installer runs, so the MSI
no longer complains that the program is open. - World cache — generated map areas are cached (in memory and on disk under
your local app-data folder), so jumping to a waypoint or panning back to
somewhere you've been is near-instant. - Waypoint popup — click a waypoint on the map to open an interactive callout
showing its name and coordinates, with Edit / Delete buttons. - Dimension-aware — the map now shows only the current dimension's waypoints;
the structure toggles and biome-highlight list are filtered to the dimension
(Nether shows fortress/bastion, End shows End City, etc.); "Go to on map"
switches to the waypoint's dimension automatically. - Depth presets tuned so "Underground (caves)" clearly shows cave biomes.

Chunk Compass v0.7.1
Chunk Compass v0.7.1
- The New/Edit waypoint dialog now opens centred on the main window with the
Name field focused, so you see it right away instead of it appearing in a
corner. - Fixed a hidden bug that could throw an error when the dialog closed.

Chunk Compass v0.7.0
Chunk Compass v0.7.0 — much smoother, plus built-in updates.
Performance
Panning was rebuilt so it slides the existing map instead of redrawing every
icon on each mouse move, and hover lookups are throttled. Dragging around with
lots of structures on should feel far smoother now.
(Note: the map uses Windows' standard CPU rendering - there isn't a GPU/hardware
-accelerated mode - but these changes remove the heavy per-frame work that was
causing the lag.)
Auto-update
- Help -> Check for updates now checks GitHub for the newest release.
- If a newer version exists, it downloads the installer and launches it, then
closes so the update can finish. No newer version -> it just tells you you're
up to date.

Chunk Compass v0.6.0
Chunk Compass v0.6.0 — the project formerly known as SeedMapper.
Renamed to avoid confusion with the existing SeedMapper mod. Same app, new name:
the executable is now ChunkCompass.exe and the installer
ChunkCompass-0.6.0-win64.msi. Your existing .msf map files still open
without changes.
No feature changes in this release — it is the rename plus a version bump.

SeedMapper v0.5.0
SeedMapper v0.5.0 — dimensions, the full structure set, search, and biome highlight.
What's new
- Dimension switcher (Overworld / Nether / End). The biome layer, the
structures shown, and any new waypoints all follow the selected dimension. - More structures, each with its own icon:
- Overworld: Village, Pillager Outpost, Woodland Mansion, Desert Pyramid,
Jungle Pyramid, Swamp Hut, Igloo, Ancient City, Stronghold,
Buried Treasure, Trail Ruins, Trial Chambers, Ruined Portal, Mineshaft,
Ocean Monument, Ocean Ruins, Shipwreck - Nether: Nether Fortress, Bastion Remnant, Ruined Portal
- End: End City
- Overworld: Village, Pillager Outpost, Woodland Mansion, Desert Pyramid,
- Search box — type a structure or biome name and jump to the nearest one
(it even switches dimension for you when needed). - Biome highlight — multi-select biomes in the side list to spotlight them
while the rest dim out. - Biomes and Terrain are now plain checkboxes so their on/off state is clear.
Notes: Abandoned Village is a variant of Village, and End Ships generate inside
some End Cities, so those aren't separate markers. Mineshafts are dense, so that
layer is off by default and loads when you're zoomed in.

SeedMapper v0.4.2
SeedMapper v0.4.2 — newest Minecraft versions in the picker.
The version dropdown now goes all the way up to 26.2 and includes
1.21.5 through 1.21.11 and the 26.x releases (26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2).
Important: the world-gen engine (cubiomes) only models generation up to
1.21.4 so far. Versions newer than that use the 1.21.4 model, which matches
for biomes and almost all structures because Minecraft world generation has been
stable since 1.18. When you pick one of these newer versions the app shows a note
saying so. If a future Minecraft update changes generation or adds new
structures, those won't appear until the engine adds support upstream.

SeedMapper v0.4.1
SeedMapper v0.4.1 — full Minecraft version list.
The version picker now includes every version the world-gen engine models:
Beta 1.7 and 1.8, and all releases from 1.0 through 1.21.4 (66 entries). Patch
versions map to the correct generation (within a major release, patches that
did not change world generation share the same output, exactly as cubiomes
treats them).
The newest supported is 1.21.4 (labelled latest); the engine cannot generate
versions past the 1.21 line until cubiomes adds them upstream.

SeedMapper v0.4.0
SeedMapper v0.4.0 — terrain relief, depth control, and a much friendlier structures panel.
What's new
- Terrain shading — a new toggle hillshades the map using approximate
surface heights, so you can see the depth and relief of the terrain
(mountains, valleys, coastlines). Works on Minecraft 1.18+. - Depth selector — choose which slice of biomes to view: Surface,
Underground (y=0), or Bottom (y=-51) (deep dark / deepslate level). - Clickable structure toggles — the side panel now shows each structure as a
clickable icon. Click one to turn it on/off (it gets a red strike when off),
or use the All / None buttons. Structures are shown by default. - Readable text — the biome name in the status bar is no longer cut off and
everything uses a larger font; on-map labels are bigger too.
Versions
The dropdown covers Minecraft Java 1.7 → 1.21 (newest labelled "1.21
(latest)"). The engine (cubiomes) currently models generation up to the 1.21
line; there is no Minecraft Java version "26.2", so it can't be added — if you
meant a specific snapshot or something else, let me know what it is.

Windows 64-bit; everything is bundled.
SeedMapper v0.3.0
SeedMapper v0.3.0 — a nicer, more interactive map.
What's new
- New structure icons — each structure type now has its own drawn icon
(house, tower, temple, dome, anchor, portal, and more) on the map and in the
legend, instead of plain letter markers. - Hover to inspect — move the mouse over the map to see the biome at the
cursor; hover a structure to see its name and exact coordinates. - Click a structure to either add it as a waypoint or mark it as
explored (its icon greys out with a check mark). Explored markers are saved
in your.msffile. - Biome layer is on by default, and the map now loads a larger area at
once so panning feels smoother. - Structure list trimmed to the useful landmarks by default; toggle any type
under View → Structure types.
Versions
The engine supports Minecraft Java 1.7 through 1.21 (including the latest
snapshot cubiomes models). Pick your version from the dropdown.
