Phones and Tablets
The page is the same on every device; on a touch screen the operating controls change. A desktop keeps its five soft keys and hold-to-talk. Phones and tablets reach the station through the Server build (no phone browser has Web Serial; a Windows touch tablet can run Standalone).
The padlock in the scope's bottom-right corner locks every control but PTT, as on a handheld: no accidental band change in a pocket or on a car seat. Tap to lock, hold about a second to unlock (the ring fills). Locking closes any open panel. A tap elsewhere while locked nudges the padlock with "hold to unlock".
In voice modes the bottom bar becomes four soft keys with a full-width PTT row under them in portrait (double width in landscape). Hold it to talk.
Latching: hold PTT, slide the finger up into the lock cap and release there. The radio stays keyed, the button reads "TX LOCKED · tap to stop" with a timer, and a tap stops it. A tap can never latch by itself. The latch ends after 3 minutes at most, when the page is hidden (a call comes in, you switch apps), and, on the Server build, if the browser that keyed the radio disconnects: the server remembers which browser keyed it and unkeys the rig itself.
PTT means something only where a microphone is the modulation: CW gets a plain KEY soft key; RTTY and the FT8 / JS8 / packet panels get the four soft keys alone.
Browsers start audio only after a touch. On every page load, tap once (the start overlay asks for it) before you hear anything. The mic needs HTTPS and a permission prompt the first time.
If the audio chops on Wi-Fi, open FUNC › AUDIO and set the BUFFER tile to 200 ms. It otherwise learns the size it needs and remembers it per device.
The FT8, JS8 and packet panels stack their panes in portrait and take the full width, and the SSTV panel puts its RX, TX and GALLERY panes behind tabs; markers are dragged with a finger. F-INP (frequency entry) and the BAND and MODE overlays are sized for a thumb. A tablet in landscape gets the desktop layout.
The page can be added to the home screen from the browser's share or menu as a shortcut; it opens in the browser. Use the browser's full-screen mode for an operating screen without the address bar. The certificate must have been accepted in that browser first.
