@adityajha2005 adityajha2005 released this 10 Oct 08:20

Use it with your Claude Code subscription, no API key

New provider claude: decisionkit answers through the Claude Code login you already have (claude -p). There's no Jev, OpenRouter or OpenAI key to set up.

npm i -g @adxtya21/decisionkit@0.4.0
export DECISIONKIT_PROVIDER=claude
echo "Users get logged out after we scaled to 3 instances" | decisionkit choice "What kind of issue is this?" bug feature refactor docs
  • Isolated per call: no tools, MCP servers, settings or saved session. A short system prompt keeps input around 1.2k tokens.
  • Stays on your subscription: ANTHROPIC_API_KEY is stripped from the child process, so a shell key can't quietly move usage off your plan. The prompt goes over stdin, never the command line.
  • Probabilities are Claude's self-reported estimates, and every result says so. For real model probabilities and 135–524 ms answers, switch to jev, openrouter or openai.
  • About 4–5 s per call; the default timeout is 30 s.

Claude Code plugin users: claude plugin update decisionkit@decisionkit, then pick claude as the provider in /plugin configure decisionkit@decisionkit.

v0.2.1: status fix, docs and CI

@adityajha2005 adityajha2005 released this 10 Oct 07:27

Fixes

  • With the usage log off, status now reports "logging off". Previously it showed totals from other processes' runs in the shared log. This was found by installing 0.2.0 from npm into a fresh workspace and running an isolated Claude Code session against it.

Docs and project

  • README: a 1-minute quickstart with real output, a measured "why" table, and troubleshooting for every failure mode we hit.
  • New files:
  • CI: split into parallel jobs (typecheck and bundle freshness, test matrix on ubuntu/macos with Node 22/24, npm package, plugin manifest, bundle on Node 20/22). A new check fails if the npm tarball contains anything beyond its 4 expected files.
  • npm page: the description and keywords are updated.

Install

npm i -g @adxtya21/decisionkit@0.2.1

v0.2.0: CLI, OpenRouter, first npm release

@adityajha2005 adityajha2005 released this 10 Oct 07:27

First npm release. The package is @adxtya21/decisionkit; the command it installs is decisionkit.

Highlights

  • CLI: decisionkit binary | choice | score | rank | status.
    • Context comes from stdin or --context.
    • grep-style exit codes: 0 = yes or confident, 1 = no or below --threshold, 2 = error.
    • --json and --quiet; the provider, latency and cost are disclosed on stderr.
  • MCP server + Claude Code plugin: decide and status tools. Plain decisionkit with no arguments runs the server.
  • Providers:
    • OpenAI Decisions API (gpt-6-luna)
    • Jev by TypeSafe AI
    • new: Jev via OpenRouter (DECISIONKIT_OPENROUTER_API_KEY)
  • Latency:
    • The provider connection is opened at startup, removing a ~1.7 s cold first call.
    • The plugin loads the tool up front (alwaysLoad): Claude goes from 3 to 2 turns on first use.
  • Benchmarks: 100 blind-checked tasks. Accuracy was a tie with Claude Haiku 5.5 (OpenAI 99, Jev 97, Haiku 97); the decision APIs were 3–13x faster and up to 2.5x cheaper. See bench/RESULTS.md for the caveats.
