Bug Fixes

  • The Vite middleware now settles when the client aborts a request, for example when a browser closes the page while an asset is loading. Previously, the middleware waited for a finish event that Node never emits on aborted requests, so the request stayed in flight in AdonisJS forever and could block process shutdown (#54).
  • When the client is already gone, the application no longer handles requests that Vite passes on. This includes the response being closed before the middleware runs, a Vite middleware that destroys the response and then calls next(), and a TCP reset.

Known Limitation

  • On early Node 24 releases (seen on 24.0.0), pipelined HTTP/1.1 requests that are aborted while queued can still stay pending. Node 24.22 and 26.10 are not affected. Browsers do not pipeline requests.
