Release list
codebar 0.3.3
- ⌘Tab back to the terminal. If you ⌘Tab away from an open terminal, codebar shows up in ⌘Tab (and the Dock) until you come back, so ⌘Tab (or clicking it in the Dock) brings the terminal back. Clicking somewhere else still just puts it away.
Quit the old version (right-click the icon → Quit All Instances) before installing.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.3.2
- Quit with ⌘Q from inside any instance's window. It quits all instances, like right-click the icon → Quit All Instances.
Quit the old version (right-click the icon → Quit All Instances) before installing.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.3.1
- Switch between instances with ⌘
** (next) and **⇧⌘(previous), from inside any instance's window. They go by their menu-bar numbers and wrap around. The one you leave hides as usual, unless it's pinned.
Quit the old version (right-click the icon → Quit All Instances) before installing.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.3.0
- Resize the window by dragging an edge or a corner. Under its icon it stays centered there.
- Move it anywhere by dragging its header, onto any screen. It opens there from then on; double-click the header (or right-click the icon → Move Back Under Icon) to put it back under its icon.
- Each instance slot remembers its size and place.
Quit the old version (right-click the icon → Quit All Instances) before installing.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.2.0
- codebar is now a native macOS app. It's rewritten in Swift and AppKit (the terminal is SwiftTerm) instead of tinyjs and a web view, so it's smaller, starts faster, and every instance runs in one process. Everything works as before, and your remembered folders, hotkey and notification settings carry over.
- Links in the terminal open with ⌘-click.
Quit the old version (right-click the icon → Quit All Instances) before installing.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.1.14
- The terminal opens when codebar starts. Launching codebar (or adding a New Instance) now drops its terminal down under the menu-bar icon, instead of only adding an icon. Click the icon or press ⌃⌥1 to hide and show it as before.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.1.13
- ⌘W asks first when Claude is busy. If Claude is working or waiting on you, ⌘W now asks before quitting the instance. Press ↵ to quit or esc to stay. When nothing is running, ⌘W quits right away as before.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.1.12
- ⌘W quits the instance. It used to only hide the window. Now it quits that instance and ends its session, the same as Quit Instance in the menu-bar icon's menu. It works from anywhere in the window. To just put the window away, press the hotkey again or click elsewhere.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.1.11
- ⌘W closes the window from anywhere. It used to work only while the terminal had focus; now it also works from the header buttons and the About box.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
codebar 0.1.10
- Icons numbered left to right. macOS adds each new menu-bar icon to the left of the others, so instance 1 used to sit furthest right and ⌃⌥1 toggled the rightmost icon. Now the leftmost icon is 1 and answers to ⌃⌥1, the next is 2, and so on. When an instance starts or quits, the others renumber and move their hotkeys to match. Each terminal still remembers its own folder.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Requires macOS 14+.
