  • Icons numbered left to right. macOS adds each new menu-bar icon to the left of the others, so instance 1 used to sit furthest right and ⌃⌥1 toggled the rightmost icon. Now the leftmost icon is 1 and answers to ⌃⌥1, the next is 2, and so on. When an instance starts or quits, the others renumber and move their hotkeys to match. Each terminal still remembers its own folder.
