Protocol discussion

After a week of brainstorming and analysis by the whole cohort, the protocol that we decided to implement is the hybrid peer-to-peer distributed system for a social media system. This protocol has provides higher privacy compared to a fully centralised server. Allows a smaller server to be present, since messaging is now done separately. This method suits are needs quite well as we have implemented a peer to peer chatting system. We need to send and receive messages directly from one person and at times need to send it to all the users. Both of these methods are straight forward and this method can provide the desired features: privacy, trust and consent. Trust is ensured as private messages are encrypted and carry the username of the sender and a unique public key. The silent blocking feature means the data received from one user is not displayed and the other peer does not get informed of any blocking. All of this can be done without the centralised system.
