v2.3.4
Pre-release
Pre-release
Toggling "Enable" now restarts the volume keys
On some Macs the volume keys stop working after a while, and only quitting and relaunching Volume Control brings them back; see #43. Unticking and re-ticking Enable, and waking the Mac from sleep, only re-enabled the existing event tap (the connection through which Volume Control receives the volume keys). Volume Control now creates a new event tap in both cases.
Also:
- When macOS disables the event tap "by user input", Volume Control re-enables it.
- Volume Control turns the volume keys off only after five consecutive timeouts of the event tap, as intended. Before, it counted every timeout since launch.
The Event tap section of Copy Diagnostics changed:
- "Event tap receiving keys" is now "Event tap enabled", which is what it reports.
- "Event tap created" shows how long ago the event tap was created.
- The new line "Last media key seen by tap" updates on every volume key press. If it does not, the volume keys do not reach Volume Control.
This pre-release also contains the change of v2.3.3: Command is detected from the keyboard state when the volume key event lacks it.
Changes since v2.3.3
- 887f9f4 Create a new event tap when tapping is enabled, and on wake
