AM2R Android — 1.5.5.12

New UI and performance improvements on lower-end hardware.

Both editions

  • Improved frame pacing, exploration and rendering efficiency to reduce slowdown
    and map-cell stutter.
  • Faster texture loading when returning to the game.
  • Title scrolling follows the music timing on slower hardware.

Standard Edition

  • Smooth Touch Control Scale and Control Spacing sliders, with automatic
    camera-cutout clearance.
  • Landscape, Portrait and Automatic orientation options. Surface Duo users
    should keep the game in an unspanned app window on the intended panel.
  • Retains the Hold-mode touch fix for selecting Super Missiles.

Dual Screen Edition

  • Redesigned lower HUD with blue energy bars, clearer ammunition and Metroid
    counters, and compact controller hints.
  • New HUD made by Carlo "AbyssalCreature": https://www.artstation.com/abyssalcreature
  • Uncollected ammunition panels stay hidden until the upgrade is acquired.
  • Consistent map and menu buttons with either HUD Screen Position. The separate
    HUD Style option is removed.
  • Corrected long area titles, Genetics Laboratory naming and GF Research Site
    artwork. The Tower exterior title follows its area scan; Waterfalls now has
    its title across the area.
  • Preserves audio when leaving and returning to the game.

Tested devices
AYN Thor, AYANEO Pocket DS, Retroid Pocket Duo and Retroid Pocket Duo Lite are
tested and working, including community feedback. RG DS still awaits physical
validation.

Compatibility
Some Cocoon setups may reduce performance because the launcher continues running
behind the lower display, particularly at low clock settings. The lower display may still take a moment to resume at low clocks.
Compatibility with 16 KB-page devices still needs physical validation; see README.md.

Updating
Repatch your original AM2R 1.1 Windows ZIP and install over the existing edition.
Package IDs and signing are unchanged. Do not uninstall the game first; updating
keeps its saves and settings. Backing up first is recommended. Both game packages
use version code 1005009; the Autopatcher uses version code 13.
Updating the Autopatcher alone does not update an already installed game.

Downloads
Includes the Autopatcher APK, three source archives and SHA256SUMS. Complete
playable game APKs are not distributed. Source licenses and build requirements
remain documented in each archive.
