T3 Code 0.1.2 — macOS 12 Intel / OpenCode compatibility
T3 Code 0.1.2 for Intel Macs on macOS 12 Monterey, including Core 2 Duo T9900 and Xeon X5690.
Upstream baseline: pingdotgg/t3code v0.1.2, commit 044f07257c9684ae4543bd1e1ebf9c394e9e3830.
Compatibility retained
- Custom Electron 44.9.0 / Node 24.22.0, built for macOS 12 with automatic ANGLE OpenGL on Macs without Metal. The stock upstream Electron 44.9.3 runtime is not bundled.
- 60-second OpenCode 2 model discovery deadline, including slow cold startup and catalog stabilization.
- Successful OpenCode catalog refreshes clear explicitly empty model options, so stale variants such as Big Pickle's
mediumare removed. Failed or incomplete discovery retains the last useful metadata. - Signed x64 ZIP, without an official upstream update feed that could replace the compatible runtime.
Maintaining the fork
The compatibility changes and merge procedure are documented in FORK.md. Dedicated *.legacy.test.ts files protect OpenCode behavior and avoid repeated conflicts with upstream tests. pnpm verify:legacy runs the relevant regressions, including the custom runtime packaging check.
The build wrapper uses our Node 24.13.1 host toolchain, installs the repository-pinned pnpm into its own versioned directory, uses a frozen lockfile and checks the runtime's macOS minimum before packaging. Rebuild with:
T3CODE_VERSION=0.1.2 ./rebuild-t3code-macos12.shVerification
- Required changed-file checks pass: formatting, lint, knip, GraphQL generation, typechecking of 32 affected packages and 106 focused tests.
- The final ZIP passes CRC, version, minimum macOS and update-feed checks; its app passes strict deep ad-hoc signature verification.
- The packaged server reports
t3 v0.1.2and serves environment readiness with HTTP 200 under an isolated HOME and T3CODE_HOME, using the bundled Node 24 runtime. - Installed on the Core 2 Duo T9900 MacBook running macOS 12: desktop window rendered, packaged backend reported 0.1.2 and environment readiness returned HTTP 200.
- Refreshed provider status through the desktop settings: OpenCode 2.1.2 is authenticated and lists 10 models. T3 variant metadata matches the direct OpenCode API for every model, including the custom Qwen model; Big Pickle has no variants.
- Current-host installation is staged for a normal restart after the active answer completes and all agents are idle, with the previous app and a consistent database snapshot retained.
Install
Download T3-Code-0.1.2-x64.zip and SHA256SUMS.txt, then verify:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txtQuit T3 Code, extract the ZIP and replace /Applications/T3 Code (Beta).app. Preserve the prior app and a consistent database snapshot for rollback. Existing settings and threads remain outside the bundle. Reopen T3 and refresh OpenCode provider status.
This build is signed ad hoc and is not notarized. macOS may ask the new build to access its existing t3code Safe Storage keychain item.
Use opencode-legacy-cpu for OpenCode on older CPUs. Its separate 30-second plugin-activation wait is preserved in that project.
T3 Code 0.1.1-2 — macOS 12 Intel, OpenCode catalog fix
T3 Code 0.1.1-2 for Intel Macs running macOS 12 Monterey.
This update fixes OpenCode model catalog refreshes. When OpenCode explicitly reports no model options, T3 now clears cached variants such as medium. Previously it could keep offering an unsupported variant and fail with Variant unavailable for opencode/big-pickle: medium. The fix applies to all OpenCode models; failed or incomplete discovery still keeps the last known catalog.
The build retains our custom Electron 44.9.0 / Node 24.22.0 runtime with macOS 12 and automatic ANGLE OpenGL support. The upstream application baseline remains T3 Code 0.1.1. The official upstream update feed is omitted.
Verification
- 92 focused ProviderRegistry tests pass, together with targeted lint and server typecheck.
- The packaged server reports
t3 v0.1.1-2and contains the registry fix. - The ad-hoc signed app was installed and launched on the Core 2 Duo T9900 MacBook; its interface and environment readiness endpoint work.
- Variant choices match OpenCode 2.1.2 for all 11 configured models, including a custom model.
- The same archive was installed on the Xeon X5690 Mac. Its existing conversation was left running for a later app restart.
Install
Download T3-Code-0.1.1-2-x64.zip and SHA256SUMS.txt and verify:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txtExtract the archive, quit T3 Code, and replace /Applications/T3 Code (Beta).app. Keep the prior app for rollback. Reopen T3 and refresh OpenCode provider status. The app is signed ad hoc and is not notarized. macOS may ask the new build to access its existing t3code Safe Storage keychain item.
OpenCode builds for older CPUs are available from opencode-legacy-cpu.
The application was compiled from commit 002e1c8458; the release tag also includes the subsequent README update. Rebuild with T3CODE_VERSION=0.1.1-2 ./rebuild-t3code-macos12.sh.
T3 Code 0.1.1 — macOS 12 Intel, Electron 44.9.0 / OpenGL
T3 Code 0.1.1 for Intel Macs on macOS 12 Monterey, rebuilt with our Electron 44.9.0 compatibility runtime.
Reissued on 2026-10-21: this replaces the earlier 0.1.1 archive that bundled Electron 44.7.2. The application version remains 0.1.1; download the ZIP again to receive the new runtime.
What's included
- Upstream T3 Code v0.1.1.
- Custom Electron 44.9.0, Chromium 152.0.7977.167, Node 24.22.0, native module ABI 149.
- Automatic ANGLE OpenGL on Macs without Metal. The custom runtime retains macOS 12 support and the legacy OpenGL compatibility path; stock Electron 44 binaries require macOS 13.
- OpenCode 2's 60-second model discovery deadline is preserved, including server cold starts on older CPUs and upstream's catalog stabilization logic.
- An ad-hoc signed
T3 Code (Beta).appinside the ZIP.
Verification
The final ZIP was checked on a MacBookPro7,1 / Core 2 Duo / GeForce 320M running macOS 12.7.6:
- Valid ad-hoc signature; app and Electron framework target macOS 12.0.
- Runtime reports Electron 44.9.0 / Node 24.22.0 / native module ABI 149.
- ffi-rs, keyring, fff, and Electron passkeys native modules load.
- node-pty starts a shell and receives its output.
- Packaged backend reports
t3 v0.1.1, creates an isolated test database, and serves metadata and the web client with HTTP 200. - 120 targeted packaging and OpenCode tests pass, including the 60-second cold-start deadline.
The exact Electron 44.9.0 distribution also passed GUI/WebGL1 pixel checks with hardware compositing on both Radeon RX 6800 XT (Metal) and GeForce 320M (automatic OpenGL).
Download and install
Download T3-Code-0.1.1-x64.zip and the new SHA256SUMS.txt from this release, then verify:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txtExtract the ZIP, quit the old T3 Code, and copy T3 Code (Beta).app into /Applications.
This third-party build has no Apple Developer ID signature or notarization. If macOS blocks the downloaded app after extraction:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/T3 Code (Beta).app"The official update feed is omitted so automatic updates cannot replace our runtime with an incompatible stock build. Update manually from this fork's releases.
Rebuild with ./rebuild-t3code-macos12.sh; it downloads the pinned Electron 44.9.0 archive, verifies its SHA256, builds the app and packages the signed result. See build instructions.
T3 Code 0.1.0 — macOS 12 Intel, Electron 44.7.2 / OpenGL
T3 Code 0.1.0 for Intel Macs running macOS 12 Monterey, including older Macs without AVX or Metal.
This fork merges upstream tag v0.1.0 and uses our Electron 44.7.2 build for macOS 12. Stock Electron 44 distributions require macOS 13 and are not used in this artifact.
The custom runtime automatically selects ANGLE OpenGL on Macs without a Metal device. The application is now named T3 Code (Beta).app.
Download and install
Download T3-Code-0.1.0-x64.zip and extract it. Quit the previous T3 Code application before copying T3 Code (Beta).app into /Applications and launching it.
The ZIP already contains an ad-hoc signed application. This third-party build has no Apple Developer ID signature or notarization. If macOS blocks the downloaded application after extraction, remove its quarantine attribute:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/T3 Code (Beta).app"SHA256:
2f892fc04bd9ec50a8d84c24ceff8e592b7399092f882826c47a02bbe2bcfbae T3-Code-0.1.0-x64.zip
SHA256SUMS.txt is attached as well.
Verification
Checked on macOS 12.7.6, including a MacBookPro7,1 with a Core 2 Duo and NVIDIA GeForce 320M:
- Valid ad-hoc signature; app and Electron framework target macOS 12.0.
- Electron 44.7.2, Chromium 152.0.7977.149, Node 24.21.0, native module ABI 149.
- GUI renders; WebGL uses the NVIDIA OpenGL 3.3 driver through ANGLE, and the GPU process automatically receives
--use-angle=gl. - Backend starts and responds with HTTP 200; CLI reports
t3 v0.1.0. - ffi-rs, keyring, fff, and Electron passkeys native modules load; node-pty starts a shell and receives its output.
- 78 packaging tests pass, along with targeted lint and formatting checks.
These checks cover build and runtime compatibility. An authenticated model conversation was not part of the automated verification.
Updates and rebuilding
This build ships without the official update feed. Update manually using this fork's releases; adding an official app-update.yml can replace the custom runtime with an incompatible upstream build.
./rebuild-t3code-macos12.sh now downloads the pinned custom Electron release, verifies its SHA256, builds the app, and packages the signed result. See AGENTS.macos12.md for the build procedure.
T3 Code 0.0.45 — macOS 12 Monterey (no AVX)
T3 Code 0.0.45 built for Intel Macs on macOS 12 Monterey without AVX (e.g. MacPro5,1, Xeon X5690).
This is a fork build. The canonical project and its documentation are at pingdotgg/t3code — please read issues and feature requests there, not here.
Why this release exists
Upstream artifacts are built for macOS 13 and up: LSMinimumSystemVersion: 13.0 and a Mach-O minos 13.0, so they refuse to launch here with kLSIncompatibleSystemVersionErr. Lowering minos by hand does not help, because those binaries genuinely call macOS 13 APIs such as SMAppService.
This build pins Electron to 43.7.7, the last line built against macOS 12. There it is available only as weak imports, so the app loads. The pin is stable rather than temporary: Electron drops OS support on major version lines, so 43.x is the last line that will ever target macOS 12.
The artifact is x86_64 at baseline x86-64, so no AVX is required. Verified running on a CPU reporting only SSE4.1/SSE4.2, with no SIGILL and no crash reports.
Install
- Download
T3-Code-0.0.45-x64.zipbelow. - Verify (optional):
shasum -a 256 T3-Code-0.0.45-x64.zipshould equal1cf8e684f682337f50aaa6fc71a7d6cac61e4b104c99009289d9a306ec04353d. - Unzip, then sign and install — the ad-hoc signature is mandatory, Electron will not start without one:
unzip T3-Code-0.0.45-x64.zip
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "T3 Code (Alpha).app"
codesign --force --deep --sign - --timestamp=none "T3 Code (Alpha).app"
cp -R "T3 Code (Alpha).app" /Applications/
open -a "/Applications/T3 Code (Alpha).app"There is no .dmg on purpose: the upstream DMG step converts an SVG with sips, which cannot read SVG, so it fails here. The zip holds the identical .app.
Your data lives in ~/.t3/userdata (chats, settings, database), outside the bundle, so replacing the bundle keeps it.
Important: auto-update is off, keep it that way
These builds deliberately ship without Contents/Resources/app-update.yml, which is what disables the updater. Do not copy that file in from an official release. If it appears, the app will pull a macOS 13 build over itself and stop launching — the exact failure this fork exists to avoid. Decline update prompts in the UI; update by replacing the app from this repository.
Verified on install: LSMinimumSystemVersion 12.0, Mach-O minos 12.0, codesign -v clean, backend answering HTTP 200, no dyld/SMAppService errors in the logs.
