Version 2.8.0 - October 2026

  • Security fix: the private key (or its file path) is no longer included in exception messages or properties.
  • Breaking change: the private key is now checked when ApiConfiguration is created. Only RSA private keys in PEM format (BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY or BEGIN PRIVATE KEY) are accepted. Invalid, encrypted, OpenSSH, non-RSA or placeholder keys now throw ArgumentException straight away, instead of failing on the first API call. If your code or tests create ApiConfiguration with a dummy key, replace it with a real RSA private key.
  • Private keys with extra spaces, blank lines or a UTF-8 BOM are now accepted.
  • A null or empty private key throws ArgumentNullException / ArgumentException instead of NullReferenceException.
  • README: corrected the ssh-keygen command (-m PEM is required).
