Klip 2.0.1 public beta — replay duration fix
Pre-releaseKlip 2.0.1 — unsigned public beta
Fixes short replays caused by constant-quality video filling the memory buffer
before the selected time was reached. Duration-first encoding is now the default
for new and existing settings. Selecting a duration no longer shrinks OBS replay
memory using an unrelated bitrate. Settings show the effective video bitrate;
constant quality remains an explicit option with its memory-limit warning.
The exact 2.0.1 Windows binary saved three decoded 30.47–32.02-second replays while
recording, with real global shortcuts, monotonic timestamps and zero repeated
source IDs on the NVIDIA test system. Debug and Release test suites passed.
Keyframe-aligned saves can be slightly longer than requested. These tests are
not universal game-performance or all-hardware certification.
Allow the buffer to warm up after starting or changing capture. Duration-first
limits bitrate to fit memory, so detail can decrease in demanding scenes. This
also affects recordings sharing the same encoder. Already-short clips cannot be
recovered retroactively.
Windows x64 only; Linux desktop support is not released. Ubuntu shared-core CI
and the native-port plan are included. This installer is unsigned. Verify the
SHA256 checksums; do not disable Windows security. Microsoft VC++ x64 runtime is
a separately installed prerequisite. Klip remains GPL-3.0-or-later; corresponding
Klip/upstream sources and dependency build recipes are included below.
