Open the dashboard editor and select the Wiser Controls card to configure it.

General settings

  • Title sets the card heading. When empty, a single-type card uses the type name (for example Heating); a multi-type card uses only its section headings.
  • Devices per row accepts 1–6 and is always honoured. Give the card enough width in Home Assistant's Layout tab when using several columns.
  • Hubs selects one or more detected Wiser config entries. All detected hubs are selected by default.
  • Split devices by hub displays a separate card for every selected hub. Each hub keeps its own visibility, order, configuration mode and device options.

When several hubs are selected, hub tabs appear below the general settings. Choose a tab before editing devices. The settings below the tabs apply only to that hub.

The standalone dashboard-card editor has one Devices per row setting. Wiser panel settings store separate desktop and mobile values: the editor shows only the setting for the current viewport, and mobile defaults to one device per row.

Device types

Use All / Heating / Shutters / Lights / Appliances to select one or several types. Multiple types appear as separate sections, each with its own status and bulk actions. Master tabs follow the same order as the sections rendered in the card, rather than being sorted independently.

When a hub exposes more than one hydronic heating channel, Split heating by channel can divide its Heating section into one subsection per channel. Rooms and actuators without a channel use a No channel subsection.

Configuration modes

Individual

Each detected entity has a named tab in a row for its device type. Select a tab to configure only that entity. The eye button changes visibility and the arrow buttons change display order within that type. Navigation chevrons appear only when more tabs are available outside the visible row.

Master

Master mode applies one configuration to every entity of a type. When several types are selected, named tabs such as Heating and Appliances appear. Each tab has an independent Master configuration and preview.

Adding a type creates a clean Master configuration using that type's defaults; settings are never copied from a different type. Removing a type discards its inactive Master configuration, so adding it again starts clean.

Switching from Individual to Master uses an entity of the same type to initialise that type. Switching back expands each type's Master configuration into individual entity settings.

Hide devices

Use the eye button beside the active device tab to show or hide it. Hiding an entity changes only this card; it does not disable or control the entity in Home Assistant. Hidden tabs remain available and use a struck-through label. A hidden device is still rendered in the preview while its tab is selected.

Multiple hubs

When more than one hub is selected, each hub has its own editor tab. Visibility, device order, Individual options and Master options belong only to that hub. Saving panel settings keeps the currently selected hub tab active.

Split devices by hub renders a separate card for each hub. When disabled, devices from the selected hubs are combined into one card while retaining their per-hub configuration.

Panels

  • Content controls the name, icon, colour, primary state, readings and schedule text.
  • Secondary status shows selected state or attribute values from the device or another entity directly in the card header. It is separate from normal Tile features.
  • Interactions provides Home Assistant's Tile interaction controls.
  • Features uses Home Assistant's native Tile feature editor and controls feature placement.

Preview

The preview shows one representative device from every available section. Each section remembers its last selected device, including when moving between hub tabs. Hidden devices remain available in the preview and are marked with a diagonal HIDDEN watermark.

The Wiser panel already has hub tabs. Its settings cog opens the configuration for the currently selected panel hub, so it does not add another set of hub tabs inside the dialog.
