Feature Request: Multiple DS routing names per DS

The new DS routing name customization looks great, however it is really only applicable at the creation of the DS, if you were to change the routing name on a DS with traffic on it, there would be no realistic way to avoid downtime for some of the traffic, with multiple DS routing names you could add new, cutover traffic, then remove old.

Sort of. Not as well, though. The goal of the feature is to be able to change a routing name and cut over with no downtime.

Steering can do this, if your DS is already Steering. But if you have an existing non-Steering DS, there's no way to. Having multiple routing names would let you change the FQDN on an existing standard DS without downtime.

Steering also comes at a performance cost. It's an additional DNS and HTTP request. That's why we don't just make all DSes Steering.

IMO this feature still has value. I don't think it's a priority for anyone at the moment. But I'd vote we still keep the Issue open, as a valuable feature we might want to add at some point.
