Kynoptic v0.2.0

Local-first Windows activity tracker: 40 system monitors, three-metric model (presence / automation / foreground dwell), local dashboard, stdio MCP server for AI clients, self-update with SHA256 verification.

Highlights

  • Dashboard port fallback — if 8422 is taken (Hyper-V reserved ranges), falls back to 18422/28422 segments; actual port recorded in data\dashboard-port.txt
  • Corrupt-database visibility — collector startup failures persist a diagnosis to data\collector-error.log and auto-retry instead of failing silently
  • Watchdog liveness — detects a hung collector behind a live tray, not just a dead process; sleep-window guard prevents wrongful kills after suspend/resume
  • Reliable autostart — silent installs and upgrades no longer silently lose the watchdog task and Run key
  • Event-time input bucketing — keystroke minutes land in the minute they happened (stall-proof, DST-proof)
  • Self-update hardening — ships SKILL.md, relaunches killed tray, filters pre-releases
