Lunchpad brings the classic full-screen macOS app launcher back to macOS 26 Tahoe.

Highlights

  • Open Lunchpad with a four-finger pinch, Control-Shift-Space, or the menu bar icon.
  • Browse applications in a native paged AppKit grid with two-finger horizontal swiping.
  • Search using localized application names.
  • Organize applications with persistent logical folders, including the default Other folder.
  • Automatically detect installed, removed, and replaced applications.
  • Adapt the layout to the Dock on any screen edge.
  • Launch an application immediately without waiting for it to finish opening.
  • Keep all layout data locally with no account or network service.

Requirements

  • macOS 26.0 or later
  • Apple Silicon
  • The four-finger gesture is currently verified with a built-in Force Touch trackpad.

Install

Download Lunchpad-0.1.0-macos-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Lunchpad to Applications.

Lunchpad currently uses an ad-hoc signature and is not notarized. On first launch, macOS may ask
you to approve it in System Settings → Privacy & Security before it can open.

The ZIP contains the same application bundle as an alternative download. SHA256SUMS.txt
contains checksums for both archives.

Known limitations

  • External Magic Trackpads may use report formats that are not handled yet.
  • Keyboard navigation and drag-to-create folder editing are not implemented yet.
  • A conflicting macOS four-finger system gesture may need to be changed or disabled.
