rpt-mcp v0.1.0

First public release of rpt-mcp, an MCP server for SAP Crystal Reports .rpt files.

What it can do

• Inspect: tables, SQL commands and connections, parameters, formulas, selection formulas, groups, sorts, sections, every object, field formats and hidden conditional formulas. diff_reports compares two reports.
• Edit:
  • text, fonts, colors, positions and section properties
  • formulas, parameters and selection formulas
  • number/date formats, including fields embedded in text objects
  • conditional formulas
  • lines, boxes and pictures (add, or replace a logo)
  • data sources, including switching the OLE DB provider
• Safety: every edit backs up the original first. batch_edit applies many changes in one all-or-nothing save. Deleting a formula, parameter or table is refused while it is still used.
• Verify: export_report renders to PDF/Excel/…, from the database or from rows passed inline (for DataSet/XML reports).

Install

1. Install the SAP Crystal Reports runtime for .NET Framework (v13, 64-bit) from SAP. It is not included.
2. Unzip rpt-mcp-v0.1.0-win-x64.zip.
3. Register it with your client: claude mcp add rpt-mcp -- "C:\path\to\rpt-mcp.exe"

Requires Windows and .NET Framework 4.8.

Known limitations

• Creating a new SQL Command is not supported by the in-process runtime. set_command_sql (editing an existing one) is experimental.
• The runtime rejects double line styles and draws dashed/dotted lines as hairlines.
• Section-level conditional formulas can be read but not yet edited.
