Built against TikTok 46.3.0, verified against 46.4.0 — every class and method this tweak hooks is present in both.

What's new

Downloads are now checked before they are kept.

  • Downloads are validated: the HTTP status, the file's own header, and — for video — whether it actually decodes. TikTok's CDN answers an expired story link with an error page, and that error page used to be saved as the story. It's what a grey thumbnail with a wrong duration actually was.
  • Failed downloads are retried (up to three times) instead of costing that story its only attempt. This is the gap behind "500 stories found, about 400 saved".
  • Stories already saved as broken files are repaired: they're detected on launch, cleared, and queued to download again. No action needed on your side, and nothing you deleted yourself comes back.

Verified on device: a planted 3 KB error body named <id>.mp4 was removed on launch, the real story file and cover beside it were untouched, and a story downloaded in the same session passed validation and was kept.

Jailbroken — easiest is to add the source https://asjrx.github.io/ in Sileo, or install the package matching your jailbreak:

Not jailbroken — ASJTikTok.dylib, injected into your own copy of TikTok with Sideloadly or eSign. It needs no Cydia Substrate, so any injector works. TikTok itself is not distributed here.
