"Failed to load preset" when selecting a preset inside the Helix Native vst

Bug description

It seems that 3.2 doesnt work well with Helix Native vst when trying to load presets.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install 3.2 beta exe (Windows 64bit) provided on github. Install from scratch.
2. Create a new stereo track.
3. Add effect "Helix Native" (from Line6) (get a trial version there: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=11002 , it requires an account in the line6 site)
4. Open effect's interface, so far so good
5. Attempt to change to any preset

Expected behavior

Preset is changed, no problem. This is what we observe with any other DAW (Reaper, Ableton Live, etc.)

Actual behavior

Error pop-up window stating:

Failed to load preset.

General or unknown error [code: -1]

Note that I suspect this have to do with the vst trying to access the presets files on disk?

I tried changing the audio "host" but none worked. I stayed with WASAPI.

Audio interface (all those connected but not necessarly ones I tried):

• Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB (main, the one I'm trying to use here)
• Zoom H4N
• Yamaha MG10XUF
• Line 6 Helix Floor

@Klaim would you please try the latest public release of 3.2.0 and let us know if the problem still exists?

I can now confirm that the bug is still there, the behavior is the same with the last released version that can be downloaded on the website (matching this commit: 135773c, says the About info)

I can also make videos if that helps.

Testing in the most recent release branch (https://github.com/audacity/audacity/actions/runs/3471420722) on windows.

I am having no longer having any issues selecting preset in the effect interface. This is true for both called from the RT stack as well as the destructive effects menu.

I'm still seeing the OP's problem. Windows 11, latest release build

Note that the version of Helix Native I tried was 3.15, but they released 3.50 last week.

I just updated my Audacity version to last release - I see the same issue with Helix Native 3.50.
