Francisco De La Vega
Mentioned in Dominguez's letter to Brooks
The de la Vega family date back to the conquistadores and have owned large tracts of land in Merida for centuries.
When having dinner with him, the group revealed their interest in Chichen Xoxul and Gol-goroth. de la Vega relveals he is part of a group charged with protecting Chichen Xoxul until the Xoxul return to reclaim it.
Dominguez wanted to find Chichen Xoxul and De la Vega will not allow him to come back and expose it to the world.
After looking at the evidence of groups outside Yucatan worshiping Gol-Goroth, he claims that it cannot be Gol-Goroth who they worship, as those are not practices associated with Gol-Goroth at all in the legends. Gol-Goroth was more violent nothing to do with orgiastic rites. He help the Xoxul destroy the Mayans and steal from them a pyramid from the 15th century into the 12th century.
De la Vega will organise a group to support the investigators hunting Dominguez in Chichen Xoxul (if they made it that far). Chichen Xoxul can be dangerous so he will have another group outside the ruins waiting for them (will not enter the ruins) if they run into trouble.
