BarcodeMate 0.1.0 is the first public release of the free, MIT-licensed desktop barcode and label workspace for Windows and macOS.

  • Mac ZIP archives are also provided. Checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Signing: Windows installers are not publisher-signed. Mac packages are not Developer ID-signed or notarized. Your operating system may warn or block installation. This release does not provide automatic updates.

  • CSV / TSV import and pasted tables, column mapping, leading-zero preservation and row quantities.
  • Serial numbers with padding, prefixes, suffixes and custom steps.
  • 108 barcode formats, physical dimensions, captions, colors, rotation and row validation.
  • Batch image ZIP export; SVG, PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and TIFF.
  • A4, Letter and custom label layouts, multi-page vector PDF and the system print dialog.
  • Reusable project files, project library, undo / redo and local image barcode recognition.
  • English and Simplified Chinese app interface; light and dark appearance.
  • Local processing, no account, no application telemetry.

Validation and current limits

Built from commit 7d82ce3a3c83387c7b5cb883ebedd8e6b338497d. Build and test results.

Both Windows and macOS passed nine core tests and five Electron workflow tests. The Windows installer was then installed on the CI machine and the five app workflows passed again using the installed executable. On macOS the packaged ZIP was extracted and the same app workflows passed. The Intel Mac build is provided, but has not been run on a physical Intel Mac.

Physical printers, scanner hardware, all Windows display scaling settings and enterprise installation policies have not been verified. Print and scan a sample before a large run. Not every one of the 108 formats has been independently decoded. Direct XLSX import is not included; export CSV or paste spreadsheet cells. Advanced CMYK/EPS/AI and complete BCStudio feature parity are not included. See the feature comparison.
