Sidebar 1.8× faster. Every page that gets an ETag now keeps its compressed form between requests, not just pages built from cached messages. The sidebar went from 10,683 to 19,400 requests a second, and other pages are unchanged. Stored pieces keep only the memory they use, and oversized ones aren't stored. Details: bench/results/whole-page-parts-20260929/summary.md.
The WAL stays bounded under sustained writes. When the WAL passed its limit, the writer's RESTART checkpoint could be silently refused while the background checkpoint ran, and the WAL kept growing. It now waits for that checkpoint, and a checkpoint that can't finish is logged.
Cleanup from @seuros (#11): shared helpers instead of duplicated ones, and modules beside their directories. Ruby's String#to_i is now one implementation that matches Ruby.
CPU profiles of every route are in bench/results/profile-20260929. They show what SIMD would and wouldn't help, and the README has fresh numbers from benchmarking v0.1.1 against Rails.
