Icinga Status now checks for updates automatically by default. You still choose when to download and install each update, and you can disable automatic checks in Settings → General → Updates. Any previously saved preference is respected.

Upgrade

On v0.2.1, choose Check for Updates… from the menu bar’s More options menu or Settings. On v0.2.0 or earlier, download this release manually once to get the updater.

For a manual installation, download Icinga-Status-0.2.2-macos-universal.zip, quit Icinga Status, unzip the download, and replace the app in Applications. Your saved instances and Keychain credentials remain available.

Requires macOS 15 or later, with support for Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with Blendbyte GmbH’s Developer ID and notarized by Apple. The download and update feed are signed, and a SHA-256 checksum is included.

Development builds keep updating disabled.

Icinga Status now includes in-app updates powered by Sparkle.

Updates

  • Choose Check for Updates… from the menu bar’s More options menu or Settings → General → Updates.
  • Enable optional automatic checks in Settings. You choose when to download and install each update.
  • Update downloads and the update feed are cryptographically signed and hosted on GitHub.

Upgrading from v0.2.0

Download and install v0.2.1 manually once. Earlier versions do not include the updater. After installing this version, future releases can be installed through the app.

Download Icinga-Status-0.2.1-macos-universal.zip, quit Icinga Status, unzip the download, and replace the app in Applications. Your saved instances and Keychain credentials remain available.

Icinga Status brings monitoring for multiple Icinga 2 instances to the macOS menu bar.

Highlights

  • Four menu bar styles with host and service counts, problem indicators, and API connection status.
  • An Overview that stays compact when everything is healthy, plus searchable Hosts and Services tabs.
  • Direct links to hosts and services in Icinga Web 2 Monitoring and Icinga DB Web.
  • Optional notifications, acknowledgements, and rechecks.
  • Credentials stored in Keychain, with support for per-instance private CA certificates.

Install

Download Icinga-Status-0.2.0-macos-universal.zip, unzip it, and move Icinga Status.app to Applications. Launch the app and add your Icinga 2 API instances from Settings.

Development sample data and scenario controls are excluded from this release.
