Releases: bbb-max-externals/bbb.dmx
Release list
bbb.dmx latest
Latest main build for bbb.dmx.
Commit: d6b5d8c
Workflow run: https://github.com/bbb-max-externals/bbb.dmx/actions/runs/32146558359
This is a moving release generated from main. Use versioned v* releases for pinned/stable installs.
bbb.dmx v0.7.1
Changes
- Add fixture parameter
rangesmetadata for shutter modes, strobe ranges, wheel slots, and stepped DMX parameters. - Convert GDTF/MVR embedded GDTF/compatible MA3
ChannelFunctionandChannelSettables intoranges. - Add lint checks for range domain errors plus gap/overlap warnings.
- Update schemas, docs, examples, converter smoke tests, and C++ profile loader tests.
CI will attach bbb.dmx.zip after the release workflow completes.
bbb.dmx v0.7.0
Breaking changes
bbb.dmx.movertracknow uses the GDTF/DIN SPEC 15800 hanging-device coordinate model directly:- beam rest direction is device-local
-Z - pan rotates about device
+Z - tilt rotates about device
+X
- beam rest direction is device-local
- Fixture patches move to
bbb.dmx.patch.v2with required"coordinates": "gdtf". - The old ambiguous
bbb.dmx.patch.v1schema is no longer emitted or supported by the CLI linter/runtime patch loader. - Existing hand-authored Max-upright patches should be re-authored as GDTF patches. Do not carry forward the old
@rot 180. 0. 0. @tilt_offset -90.correction unless you are intentionally compensating for non-GDTF data.
Added / changed
- Updated smart pan/tilt tracking candidate math for GDTF-equivalent solutions.
- Updated MVR/GDTF converter output to write
bbb.dmx.patch.v2andcoordinates:gdtf. - Updated
bbb-dmx-lint, JSON schemas, examples, help patch, README, and JSON spec for the GDTF coordinate model. - Bumped Max package metadata to
0.7.0.
Validation
cmake --build build-matrixmap --config Releasectest --test-dir build-matrixmap --output-on-failurenpm --prefix tools/bbb-dmx-convert run checknpm --prefix tools/bbb-dmx-convert run smokescripts/validate-json-schemas.sh
bbb.dmx v0.6.0
bbb.dmx v0.6.0
DMX utility expansion release.
Added
bbb.dmx.curve: channel/range curves for multi-universe DMX frames.- Supports
linear, gamma, invert, threshold, and point interpolation. - Config examples in
curves/example.json.
- Supports
bbb.dmx.mask: hard channel/range constraints for multi-universe DMX frames.- Supports
mute, hold, allow, andforce. - Config examples in
masks/example.json.
- Supports
bbb.dmx.palette: fixture-aware normalized parameter palettes.- Applies named palettes to all fixtures or wildcard fixture id filters.
- Config examples in
palettes/example.json.
bbb.dmx.scene: fixture-aware deterministic scene recall.- Resets patched fixtures to defaults, applies fixture-pattern scene rules, and outputs all patched universes.
- Config examples in
scenes/example.json.
bbb.dmx.fixtureview: diagnostic decoder for current DMX frames through fixture patch/profile metadata.- Reports fixture, parameter, raw bytes, raw value, and normalized value.
Packaging
- Package archive now includes
curves/,masks/,palettes/, andscenes/example directories. - macOS externals are universal binaries.
- Windows
.mxe64externals are built by CI.
Validation
- Local macOS build passed.
- Local common tests passed.
- GitHub Actions Build & Package passed on macOS and Windows for commit
102d1e9.
v0.5.1
bbb.dmx v0.5.1
Changes:
- bbb.dmx.matrixmap now accepts char and float32 jit.matrix input.
- Matrix values are normalized before fixture writes: char uses byte/255, float32 clamps 0.0..1.0.
- Fixture parameters now support u24 color channels in addition to u8 and u16.
- Normalized writes map to u8, u16, or u24 target ranges through the common fixture mapper.
- Added generic RGB 16-bit and 24-bit fixture profiles.
- Updated matrixmap and fixturemap docs/help/tests.
Notes:
- The release workflow attaches bbb.dmx.zip after the release event completes.
- High-resolution parameters currently assume contiguous bytes starting at the first listed channel.
bbb.dmx v0.5.0
Adds bbb.dmx.matrixmap for sampling char jit.matrix color data into fixture parameters and emitting canonical multi-universe DMX frames.\n\nIncluded:\n- matrix map JSON schema and documentation\n- 2x2 RGB grid example split across universes 1 and 2\n- bbb.dmx.matrixmap Max help patch\n- package assembly now includes docs and maps\n- macOS linker flag accumulation fix for larger external sets\n\nValidation:\n- local macOS universal build passed\n- local common tests passed\n- GitHub Actions push build 27337131034 passed on macOS and Windows
bbb.dmx v0.4.0
bbb.dmx v0.4.0
Multi-universe DMX utility release.
Changes:
- Add monitor, merge, fade, generator, safety, record, patchcheck, and fixtureinfo utilities.
- Use explicit universe-prefixed 512-channel frame messages for multi-universe chains.
- Keep network output out of this repo; hand off to bbb.artnet or another sender.
- Add package entries, help patches, and utility specs.
- Build macOS universal externals and Windows externals through CI.
Validation:
- Local CMake build succeeded.
- Local unit tests passed.
- GitHub Actions Build and Package passed on macOS and Windows for main.
v0.3.1
Documentation/help refresh for the current v0.3 API surface.
Changes:
- Rewrote movertrack SPEC around the implemented tracking_mode smart/pan/off solver.
- Documented shortest_pan as a compatibility switch, not the legacy pan-only solver control.
- Expanded fixturemap README/SPEC coverage for outlets, autobang, load/inspect messages, raw channel messages, and ptbytes integration.
- Updated Max help patches with missing fixturemap examples and a real movertrack bang message.
No runtime code changes beyond the package version bump.
bbb.dmx v0.3.0
Movertrack smart tracking and calibration update.\n\n- Add tracking_mode smart/pan/off. smart is now the default and evaluates direct plus pan+180/tilt-flipped candidates before clipping.\n- Preserve the old pan-only behavior with tracking_mode pan.\n- Add calibrate_pan and calibrate_tilt messages to derive offsets from a known target and measured DMX value/bytes.\n- Update README and Max help, with regression tests for smart tracking and calibration.\n- macOS universal and Windows packages are built by GitHub Actions.
bbb.dmx v0.2.2
Package update for the validated upside-down ceiling-hung movertrack calibration.
- Document @rot 180. 0. 0., @tilt_invert 0, and @tilt_offset -90. in README and Max help.
- Add a regression test for the inverted-hang vertical direction behavior.
- Keep macOS universal and Windows build packaging via GitHub Actions.
