SK8V 1.1.1 - PlayStation Controller Support and Bug Fixes

Changes

  • PlayStation controller support: DualShock 4 and DualSense now work for skating, wired or Bluetooth, without Steam Input or DS4Windows. Share (or the touchpad click) is Back and Options is Start, so the SK8V menu is Share + L1. Xbox controllers, Steam Input and DS4Windows work as before.
  • Fixed: frozen in place after equipping the board. With no Xbox-style controller connected (for example a PlayStation pad GTA reads natively), the skater could not move. Pick the board without a controller and SK8V now tells you it needs one instead of freezing. If another controller (or a virtual one) is connected but idle, SK8V now uses the one you are pressing buttons on.
  • Fixed: teleported back into the water. Walking out of deep water (for example the LA river) could snap you back to where you went in, over and over. You now come out onto the board where you are.
  • Fixed: setup stopping with "DLL load failed while importing _ctypes" on PCs with another Python installed (for example Anaconda).
  • If Skate ever stops responding, SK8V now hands control back to GTA instead of holding your character in place.
  • Much faster setup, especially on hard drives (since 1.0.5): setup reads only the files it needs straight from GTA V's archives. A hard drive install that took 55 minutes on 1.0.3 now finishes in about 4 minutes.

Installation

Returning Players: Download "SK8V-1.1.1-update.zip", close GTA V and copy SkateVLegacy.asi and SkateVRuntime.dll into your GTA V folder, replacing the old ones. You don't need to run Setup again.

New players, or if setup stopped with the _ctypes error: Download the latest release ZIP ("SK8V-1.1.1.zip") and run SK8V Setup.cmd. Setup picks up where it stopped.

Requires GTA V Legacy Story Mode, your own Skate 3 game files and an Xbox or PlayStation controller. See the README for details.
