TubeNow Tauri v1.1.1
This is a Tauri-only playback and session-recovery update. Electron remains
unchanged at v1.1.0; use the v1.1.0 release for its existing installers.
Changes from Tauri v1.1.0
- Addresses the blank or black video playback condition investigated in the
Windows Tauri build. - Adds a playback repair action in Shields, with confirmation before clearing
selected YouTube cookies and reopening the home page. - Corrects desktop compatibility, playback-status handling and error feedback
for the repair action. - Updates Windows Shields counters to report blocked requests and trackers for
the current app session. macOS and Linux retain their established filtering
behavior.
The existing 1080p default target, fullscreen controls, tray preferences, Shorts,
live streams and optional downloads remain part of the app. Electron is not
rebuilt or included in this release.
YouTube behavior can vary by account, video and system webview. The Windows
playback correction does not imply that macOS or Linux had the same defect.
Downloads
| Platform | Architecture | Release asset |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 10/11 | x64 | TubeNow-Tauri-1.1.1-windows-x64.zip |
| macOS | Universal: Intel + Apple Silicon | TubeNow-Tauri-1.1.1-macos-universal.zip |
| Linux | x86_64 | TubeNow-Tauri-1.1.1-linux-x64.zip |
| Verification | SHA-256 for the three ZIPs | checksums.txt |
Extract the matching ZIP and choose one installer. Windows contains a setup EXE
and MSI; macOS contains a DMG; Linux contains AppImage, DEB and RPM alternatives.
Only the macOS application is universal. Native Windows ARM64 and Linux ARM64
packages are outside this release's scope.
Verify each ZIP against the checksum file from this release. Checksums cover
these Tauri v1.1.1 packages; Electron v1.1.0 keeps its own release checksums.
The packages do not include publisher signing or macOS notarization.
Updating from Tauri v1.1.0
- Quit TubeNow, including its tray instance, before installing the update.
- Download the ZIP for your operating system and architecture, verify it
againstchecksums.txt, and extract it. - Install using one package appropriate for your system. You do not need to
install both Windows EXE and MSI, or all three Linux alternatives.
The update does not require manually deleting your application profile. Session
repair is a separate action you choose; it is not an automatic installation step.
Electron users can keep their existing v1.1.0 installation.
If playback needs repair
Open Shields and use the playback repair or refresh-session button. Read the
confirmation: proceeding clears selected YouTube cookies and opens the home
page. You may need to sign in again or restore site preferences. Cancelling
leaves the session unchanged. If repair fails or is unavailable, the panel shows
feedback instead of silently leaving the action disabled.
Session repair is a recovery option, not a guarantee that every playback issue
will be resolved. Keep your operating system and system webview current.
Keep profiles, cookies and account information private when reporting problems.
