2026.22.4: Create PR dialog and quicker repo adding
This release covers v2026.22.3 and v2026.22.4.
✨ New features
Create pull request dialog
Right-click another branch and choose Create PR: current → remote/branch.... This now opens a dialog instead of going straight to the browser.
In the dialog you can:
- See the source branch (the current one) and pick the target from a searchable list of remote branches.
- Edit the title and description. They are prefilled from the commits in
target..source:- one commit: its subject and body
- several commits: the branch name as the title, and a list of commit subjects as the body
- Pick a PR/MR template from the target branch (
.github/pull_request_template.md,.github/PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE/*.md,.gitlab/merge_request_templates/*.md,.gitea/,.azuredevops/,docs/, ...). - Push the source branch first if it has no upstream or has unpushed commits. For a new branch you choose the remote. It defaults to
DefaultRemote, or else a remote other than the target's (your fork).
OK opens the platform's "create pull request" page with the source, target, title and description filled in. Nothing is created through an API, and no tokens are needed.
You can open the dialog from:
- the branch tree: the remote branch context menu, and Create PR for upstream ... on local branches
- the history graph: the branch submenus of the commit context menu
| Platform | Target branch | Title / body prefill | Cross-fork PR |
|---|---|---|---|
| GitHub / GitHub Enterprise | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ |
| GitLab / self-managed | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ |
| Gitea | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ |
| Forgejo / Codeberg | ✔ | clipboard | ✔ |
| Bitbucket Cloud | ✔ | clipboard | – |
| Azure DevOps | ✔ | clipboard | – |
| Gitee | ✔ | clipboard | – |
If a platform can't prefill a field, or the URL would be too long, the title and description are copied to the clipboard and a notification tells you.
For self-hosted servers where the host name doesn't show the platform, the dialog has a Platform dropdown. Your choice is saved per remote.
Folder picker opens right away when adding a repository (v2026.22.4)
When you add a repository from a new tab and click the folder button, the OS folder picker now opens straight away. You no longer need the extra click on the folder select button.

✨ New features
Avatars commit graph style
You can now pick a Commit Graph Style in Preferences › Appearance. Classic is still the default.
The new Avatars style splits the history view into three resizable columns:
- BRANCH / TAG: refs are left-aligned, with connector lines to their commit. Refs that don't fit go into a
+Nbadge with a dropdown, and trimmed names show a tooltip. - GRAPH: commits are shown as author avatars (or initials), merges as small dots. Lines are rounded and straight, and each row band is colored by its lane. Hover an avatar to see the author and date.
- COMMIT MESSAGE: the subject now has its own column.
Right-click any column header to open the history options menu.
Saved defaults for Fetch, Pull and Push
671531267-359ae585-a85b-40f9-83a6-e9ad0dd4c56a.webm
- The Fetch, Pull and Push buttons now run straight away with your saved default options. A dropdown next to each one opens the full options popup (Show options...).
- The options popups have Save as default and Reset defaults, so you set your preferred options once per repository.
- Changing an option in the popup no longer changes your stored preferences unless you click Save as default.
Operation feedback in the toolbar
- A spinner shows under the Fetch, Pull and Push buttons while the operation runs, followed by a checkmark when it succeeds.
- Fetch now reports failure correctly when fetching from one or more remotes fails.
🐛 Fixes
- The success checkmark is now opaque and centered in its circle.
