Changes from the initial beta14 to the current beta15

• FTP server fixes and polish

• Fixed the beta14 startup crash

• Fixed FTP server startup failure caused by the missing app-private ftp-users.properties file.

• Improved the FTP Server page layout so controls no longer overlap on smaller screens.

• Added clear FTP server state colors:

• Colored FTP status

• Preserved the existing FTP foreground-service model, authenticated read/write mode, optional anonymous read-only access, client approval, transfer journal, and notification controls.

• Split view and tablet usability

• Added resizable split view support on tablets.

• Increased the splitter touch/drag area while keeping the visual separator compact.

• Preserved the fixed 50/50 portrait split behavior on phones.

• Improved split-view usability without changing the established beta13 navigation behavior.

• Thumbnail handling

• Added video thumbnails using Android media frame extraction.

• Added persistent disk caching for image and video thumbnails.

• Changed thumbnail cache identity so thumbnails are not regenerated simply because the panel or thumbnail size changes.

• Reused cached thumbnails when revisiting folders or restarting the application.

• Home screen performance and data consistency

• Reduced the delay when returning to the Home screen.

• Home views are now kept alive instead of being rebuilt on every navigation cycle where possible.

• Added shared Home data caching across single-pane and dual-pane transitions.

• Fixed the second Home panel showing an empty Storage overview in tablet dual-pane mode.

• Separated lightweight Recent/Favorites/Places refreshes from expensive storage probing.

• Manual refresh still performs a real data refresh.

• Added a option to Settings for choosing between:

• Single-click/tap to open

• Double-click/tap to open

• Update notifications

• Added automatic update checking for the Android release channel:
  https://github.com/beyond-commander/beyondcmd.apk/releases/latest

• The app checks once on startup and then periodically in the background. Notifications are only shown when a newer version is detected.

• The same release is only notified once per installation.

• Tapping the notification opens the corresponding Android release page.

• Update checks remain HTTPS-only and do not bypass TLS validation.
