TEMPO 1.0.1

@bj0urne bj0urne released this 11 Oct 19:30

What's new in 1.0.1

  • Grabbing objects at any framerate: when you hold something with the Z key and it trails behind, the game pulls it back toward you once per frame. At high framerates that pull was applied many more times per second, so bodies you spun around kept speeding up and got flung away. TEMPO now scales the pull by frame time, so grabbing behaves the same as at 60 FPS. New option bFixGrabPull in [Havok], on by default.

Everything else is unchanged from 1.0.0, including both script-fix ESPs (byte-identical).

Upgrading

Install over 1.0.0 (or let Vortex / MO2 replace it). Your existing TEMPO.ini keeps working: the new option defaults to on. Check Data\FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO.log for grab pull (Z key) scaled by frame time.

Requirements

Also on Nexus Mods, which supports Vortex one-click installs. Full instructions are in README.md and FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO - Readme.txt.

@bj0urne bj0urne released this 07 Oct 22:49

First release of T.E.M.P.O. (Timing, Engine, Mouse & Physics Overhaul): Fallout 3 game speed is no longer tied to your FPS.

Features

  • Precise engine timer: replaces every engine frame timer (world, menus, interface) with a QueryPerformanceCounter version. This removes the hidden ~100 FPS cap and the 10 ms Sleep floor that caused microstutter.
  • "64 Hz" fix: the game's other ~110 timers get a clock accurate to 1 ms.
  • Havok physics at any framerate: the physics step matches the real frame time every frame.
  • No mouse acceleration (optional, on by default), with no INI editing needed
  • Precise FPS limiter (optional)
  • Script fixes (optional ESPs): the only two vanilla/DLC scripts that counted frames now count seconds
    • TEMPO - Script Fixes.esp requires Fallout3.esm
    • TEMPO - Zeta Fix.esp requires Mothership Zeta
  • Safety checks: every patch site is verified byte-for-byte. On a mismatch TEMPO logs the reason and leaves the game untouched.

Requirements

Install

Also on Nexus Mods, which supports Vortex one-click installs.

Extract TEMPO-1.0.0.zip into Fallout 3\Data\ (or install it with Vortex / MO2), then activate the ESPs if you want them. Start the game with Fallout3.exe and check Data\FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO.log. Full instructions are in README.md and FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO - Readme.txt.

Don't combine it with Fallout Stutter Remover, lStewieAl's bTickFix, or iFPSClamp / fMaxTime INI tweaks.
