First release of T.E.M.P.O. (Timing, Engine, Mouse & Physics Overhaul): Fallout 3 game speed is no longer tied to your FPS.
Features
- Precise engine timer: replaces every engine frame timer (world, menus, interface) with a QueryPerformanceCounter version. This removes the hidden ~100 FPS cap and the 10 ms
Sleepfloor that caused microstutter. - "64 Hz" fix: the game's other ~110 timers get a clock accurate to 1 ms.
- Havok physics at any framerate: the physics step matches the real frame time every frame.
- No mouse acceleration (optional, on by default), with no INI editing needed
- Precise FPS limiter (optional)
- Script fixes (optional ESPs): the only two vanilla/DLC scripts that counted frames now count seconds
TEMPO - Script Fixes.esprequires Fallout3.esmTEMPO - Zeta Fix.esprequires Mothership Zeta
- Safety checks: every patch site is verified byte-for-byte. On a mismatch TEMPO logs the reason and leaves the game untouched.
Requirements
- Fallout 3 / GOTY patched to 1.7.0.3 with the Fallout Anniversary Patcher. Tested on Steam GOTY.
- FOSE 1.2b2 or newer
- Windows 10/11
Install
Also on Nexus Mods, which supports Vortex one-click installs.
Extract TEMPO-1.0.0.zip into Fallout 3\Data\ (or install it with Vortex / MO2), then activate the ESPs if you want them. Start the game with Fallout3.exe and check Data\FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO.log. Full instructions are in README.md and FOSE\Plugins\TEMPO - Readme.txt.
Don't combine it with Fallout Stutter Remover, lStewieAl's bTickFix, or iFPSClamp / fMaxTime INI tweaks.
