OpenVizPilot

OpenVizPilot is a Tableau dashboard extension with a chat panel that answers questions about the currently open dashboard. It reads worksheet data, filters, parameters and selections through read-only tools, in the viewer's own Tableau session — so nobody can ask for data they aren't already allowed to see in Tableau. It never changes the dashboard on its own; with an Enterprise license it can propose filter, parameter and highlight changes as chips, but nothing runs until you click one.

This wiki is the user guide for people who use a dashboard with OpenVizPilot — not for administrators. Admin setup, licensing and deployment are documented in the project repository.

User guide

Both cover the same ground: what the chat can and can't do, how to ask good questions, the "Ask" and "Investigate" modes, slash commands, metric sources, and the Enterprise features (action chips, memory, saved queries, Watch alerts) — plus privacy and troubleshooting.
