Everything important ends up under Events (top menu). If there are unread warnings or errors, the menu shows a red number and the start page a banner. Opening the page marks all entries as read. Clear log deletes all entries; old entries are also removed automatically after Keep events (days) (default 30).
| Event | Level |
|---|---|
| backup failed (device unreachable or won't hand out its configuration) | Error |
| update aborted because the backup before it failed | Error |
| device rejected the update command | Error |
| update stuck on the minimal firmware / device still reports the old version after the update | Error |
| minimal firmware – second stage re-triggered | Warning |
| device no longer reachable (only after two failed checks) | Warning |
| device reachable again, update finished, restore successful | Info |
A problem is reported once, not on every run: if a device is offline you get one message – and the next one only after it was fine in between.

Target URL: your topic, e.g.
https://ntfy.sh/my-secret-topicor the address of your own ntfy server -
Format:
ntfy
The message arrives with the title "TasmoBackup: ", a matching priority (Info 3, Warning 4, Error 5) and an icon. Non-ASCII characters in device names work.
Tip
On ntfy.sh anyone who knows a topic's name can read it – pick a name that is hard to guess.

Target URL:
https://<your-gotify>/message?token=<app token> -
Format:
Gotify
The message arrives with the title "TasmoBackup: " and a matching priority (Info 2, Warning 5, Error 8).
For your own automations (e.g. Node-RED, Home Assistant) the app sends a POST:
{"level": "error", "device": "Attic", "message": "backup failed — device unreachable", "time": "2026-09-19T03:12:45Z"}
