Android 1.0.0 beta 8

The eighth beta of Scripture Alone for Android, as an APK you can install without Google Play.

Most people should use Google Play instead: join the scripture-alone-android-beta group, then opt in on Google Play. Play keeps the app updated and includes the Wear OS app.

New in this beta

• The German Luther 1912 Bible numbers John 10 correctly. Verse 11 is "Ich bin der gute Hirte", as in print. Before, part of verse 10 was numbered as verse 11, which pushed the good-shepherd verse to 12.

Everything from earlier betas is here too: short sermon-slide titles in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, Study's Context in place with a still overview map, your imports on Wear OS, Highlights in Notes, faithful words of Christ for imports, the crisis card, Topics, ePub and PDF import with study notes, red letters and publisher quoting terms.

This APK is for phones and tablets without Google Play. Everything is inside it: the ASV, BSB and KJV, the Bibles for every app language, the commentary, the original-language data and the maps. Nothing needs downloading, and it works fully offline. Android 10 or later.

Before installing, know that:

• It installs over earlier betas as an update. Your notes and highlights stay.
• It doesn't update itself. New versions will be posted here.
• It can't be updated by the Google Play version, or the other way round. Google Play signs its copy with a different key, so Android treats them as different publishers. To switch, export your notes and highlights first (Notes → Export, or make a Keepsake Bible), uninstall, then install the other one.
• It doesn't include the Wear OS app, which comes only from Google Play.

To install, download the APK on the phone, open it, and allow your browser or file manager to install apps when Android asks.
