mp4trim 2.2.0
Self-contained Windows 10/11 x64 installer (ffmpeg, Python, Qt and the VC++ runtime are inside; per-user, no admin).
New in 2.2.0: frame-exact, lag-free scrubbing
Dragging the timeline used to seek the video player for every mouse move, and on high-bitrate clips (e.g. 1440p60 AV1 from OBS) each seek re-decoded from the previous keyframe, so the picture lagged far behind the bar. Scrubbing now runs on a dedicated engine:
- the first drag into a keyframe chunk starts one decoder that streams that whole chunk into RAM (first frame ~100 ms)
- every further position in the chunk is an instant cache hit, so the preview is 1:1 with the playhead, including fine scrubbing frame by frame
- recently used chunks stay cached (~420 MB cap, LRU evicted); releasing the mouse hands the exact position back to normal playback
- the player is never seeked during the drag, only once on release
Everything from 2.1: OLED theme, « / » folder browsing, Apple-style fine scrubbing tiers, Discord-sized exports, lossless trim, --selftest.
