1.4.0 (2026-10-08)

Posters can now use any of twelve fonts, not just Poppins.

Every font, each on a collection it suits

Features

  • posters: a choice of fonts (#29) (c20a8e0)
    • Twelve fonts for the poster text: Poppins (still the default), Bebas Neue, Abril Fatface, Cinzel Decorative, Limelight, Bangers, Creepster, Audiowide, Rye, Pacifico, Titan One and Courier Prime.
    • Choose one for every poster, a whole section or a single collection. A collection's own font wins over its section's, which wins over the one for every poster.
    • A new Font picker in the dashboard's Design tab, under Text. The preview redraws as you pick.
    • A new font setting under posters: in config.yml. The font's own name works too, like font: Bebas Neue, and a name CineSets doesn't know stops with a message listing the fonts.
    • Streaming posters use the font for their label and subtitle, like the other text settings.
    • Each font has its own size and line spacing, so they all look about as big as each other. Long titles still shrink to fit.
    • Text with a letter a font doesn't have is drawn in Poppins instead of showing empty boxes. Creepster and Rye have no ō or č, for example.

Bug fixes

  • Gradient titles no longer cut off letters that reach left of where the text starts, like a "j" or a swash. No built-in poster looks any different because of it.

Documentation

  • The README, the preview page (new Fonts section and picture), the dashboard guide and config.example.yml cover the new setting.

Updating

  • git pull && ./install.sh, or on Docker git pull && docker compose build && docker compose up -d.
  • Nothing changes until you choose a font. With the default, every poster comes out exactly as before, so updating doesn't remake or re-upload any of them.
  • Choosing a font remakes only the posters it applies to, on the next run.
  • The fonts are all under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Each has its licence in assets/fonts, and NOTICE lists them.
