Pump It Up: Zero reconstruction for Windows (64-bit and 32-bit), version 0.3.0.
Downloads:
decomp-it-up-Zero-win64.zip(64-bit):Pumpy.exe,SDL2.dll,z.dll(zlib),vcruntime140.dll.decomp-it-up-Zero-win32.zip(32-bit): a singlePumpy.exewith everything linked in, no DLLs needed.
Video (libmpeg2) is linked into the executable in both.
How to use: extract the zip into your own Pump It Up Zero data folder (next to AUDIO/, BGA/, SCRIPT/, TITLE/, WAVE/ and STEP.DAT) and run Pumpy.exe. Game assets are not included.
New in 0.3.0:
- Mission Station: picking MISSION on the station screen now opens the mission select.
- The missions use their own step files, modes and forced modifiers, as in the original.
- Before each song the mission information screen shows the goal; after it, COMPLETE or FAIL.
- Clearing a song leads to Next Mission and the following song; clearing the third one plays Mission Cleared and goes to Enter Your Name, which saves to the mission ranking (
SETTINGS/MRANK.DAT). - Mission items: mines (life loss, sound and white flash) and the speed items (2X, 3X, 4X, 8X).
- Random Step: rewritten after the Exceed 1 source. It no longer piles every arrow on the same panels in Double.
- Long notes: each row of a held long now counts when it reaches the step zone, not ahead of it. This fixes two rows of a long being counted at once.
- Vanish: fade height adjusted, and long notes now fade too.
- Song select: a command that ends with the center panel no longer also asks to confirm the song.
- Enter Your Name: letters, sounds and background music now work.
- Game Over: the Game Over sound now plays.
PUMPY.INI: created with the default values when missing, so the audio offset can be edited again.
Mission Station, not yet:
- The CONTINUE screen after a FAIL (a failed mission goes to Game Over).
- The mission history screen.
- The random missions (CR / NR).
- Unlocking by progress: all 30 missions are open from the start.
- The prizes awarded after Mission Cleared.
Known issues: the Accelerate (AC) and Decelerate (DC) modifiers still have no effect, and there is a pause of about one second when entering the ARCADE song select.
Antivirus note: some engines flag new, unsigned executables with generic or machine-learning heuristics (for example Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml). Pumpy.exe is built with MSVC directly from the source in this repository, with no packer or obfuscation, and it has no network code. If Windows Defender blocks it, open Windows Security → Protection history and choose "Allow on device", or build it yourself (see README).
