Machogs 1.4.2 adds optional automatic cleanup for confirmed abandoned automation helpers, while keeping live coding sessions protected.

Enable Automatically clean confirmed abandoned helpers in Settings → Background. It is off by default. Start at Login is a separate option if you want monitoring after sign-in.

A helper must stay idle and disconnected for five continuous minutes, belong to the current user, and have no live parent, terminal, children, registered launch job, open pipes/sockets, or working file handles. Machogs rechecks its identity and protections before asking it to quit normally. There is no automatic force-kill fallback. A failed or missed check restarts the waiting period, and a receipt is recorded only after exit.

Connected helpers, duplicate servers, uncertain cases, and live sessions stay outside automatic cleanup. This does not fix memory growth inside an open ChatGPT/Codex app. Whole-app memory monitoring and warnings continue every 30 seconds while Machogs runs.

Validation: 100 tests passed. On a real Mac, the installed build automatically closed one disposable disconnected orphan after 5m 49s while leaving connected and parented test helpers running.
