ContextDescriptionApp v1.0.0

First public release of the accessible location description web application.

Usage

  1. Run python3 server.py
  2. Open http://localhost:8000
  3. Allow location/orientation permissions
  4. Use Update button for current location
  5. Use Speak button for audio description

Requirements

  • Modern browser with Geolocation API support
  • Python 3.x for local server
  • Map tiles (currently Toronto area only)

Known Limitations

  • Tile coverage limited to provided areas
  • Compass may not work on all devices (simulated compass available)
  • Coordinate system offset corrected in code
