Beta 3.1
tvOS Beta 3.1
Important: This IPA is unsigned because no tvOS signing identity is configured on this machine.
Fixed and improved
- Adds native Dolby Vision playback for compatible profile 5 and profile 8 HEVC streams. Nuvio starts playback with MPVKit, packet-remuxes the original video and compatible audio into local fragmented MP4 HLS without re-encoding, and switches to AVPlayer only after a real video frame is ready.
- Keeps Dolby Vision profile 7 and unsupported streams on the stable MPVKit HDR10/PQ fallback path.
- Detects AVPlayer audio-only/black-screen failures and returns to the already-loaded MPV stream without incorrectly rejecting the source.
- Improves buffering detection, source load timeouts, expired-link detection, automatic source failover, resume positioning, and timeline consistency across engine and episode changes.
- Adds a session wake lock so long MPV playback is not interrupted by the Apple TV sleep timer.
- Adds Infuse-style trackpad scrubbing, accelerated D-pad seeking, quick-seek and peek HUDs, improved Siri Remote input handling, and more reliable focus behavior.
- Adds a redesigned pause overlay, fit/fill/stretch controls, in-player episode and source panels, and live source switching.
- Coordinates Skip Intro, Skip Ending, and Next Episode timing using IntroDB markers, with a duration-based fallback when no ending marker exists.
- Adds account-synced collection folders to Home, including poster/square/landscape tiles, emoji and image covers, focus GIFs, hero artwork, folder browsing, ordering, visibility, import/export, and a collection editor.
- Improves profile-scoped settings, collection synchronization, partial/corrupt remote-data recovery, and preservation of remote-only collection changes.
- Adds frame-accurate animated GIF rendering and caching for collection focus artwork.
- Includes the navigation, catalog, library, profile, PIN, audio, MoltenVK video, and playback improvements from Beta 3.
Known issues
- The attached IPA is unsigned and must be installed with a compatible tvOS sideloading/signing workflow.
- Native Dolby Vision requires a Dolby Vision-capable Apple TV/display chain, Match Dynamic Range, profile 5 or 8 video, and an AVPlayer-compatible E-AC3, AC3, or AAC audio track. Other combinations use HDR10/PQ fallback.
- Native Dolby Vision and engine handoff still need broad verification across physical Apple TVs, televisions, receivers, soundbars, and HomePods.
- Availability of debrid and add-on streams depends on their upstream services. A CDN node that refuses connections cannot be repaired by the player; Nuvio will try other available sources.
- The Apple TV Simulator cannot play AV1 video; use H.264 or HEVC for simulator testing. Physical Apple TV playback is unaffected.
- Premiumize QR linking remains unavailable until its production OAuth client ID is configured.
