brew tap bocan/bocan
brew install bocanEvery DMG is signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple. Gatekeeper checks this the first time you open the app. Two more checks are available.
Checksum. Each release has a SHA-256 checksum file. Download it next to the DMG, then run:
shasum -a 256 -c Bocan.dmg.sha256Build attestation. The release workflow publishes a signed attestation that ties the file to the commit and the workflow run that built it. With the GitHub CLI installed:
gh attestation verify Bocan.dmg --repo bocan/bocan-musicThe command fails if the file was changed or was not built by the release workflow of this repository.
Bòcan uses Sparkle 2. It checks for a new version each day in the background and verifies each update with an EdDSA signature. It never installs an update without asking you.
- To check now, choose Check for Updates… from the Bòcan menu.
- The update check is the only network traffic the app makes by default. It fetches one XML feed from
bocan.app. - If you prefer Homebrew to do the update, run
brew upgrade --greedy bocan.
- Quit Bòcan.
- Move Bòcan from Applications to the Trash, or run
brew uninstall bocan. - To remove your data too, delete the folders in Where Bòcan keeps its data.
Bòcan never changes your music files when you remove it. Your music folders stay as they are.
