Sensors

PowerSync automatically creates sensor entities for energy monitoring. The sensors available depend on your battery system and whether Smart Optimization is enabled.


Core Sensors

All battery systems get these real-time power sensors:

Price and Tariff Sensors

PowerSync creates price sensors based on your electricity provider.

AEMO Price sensor.power_sync_aemo_price $/MWh Current AEMO dispatch price when AEMO spike detection is configured
AEMO Spike Status sensor.power_sync_aemo_spike_status Spike detector state and current threshold status

Flow Power Sensors

Created for Flow Power users.

When the optional Flow Power portal connection is configured, extra account sensors are also created for actual PEA, BPEA, CPEA, LWAP, TWAP, DLF, and demand values.

Octopus Saving Session Sensors

Created when Octopus Saving Sessions are enabled.

Daily Energy Sensors

Accumulated energy totals that reset at local midnight. Available for all battery systems:

Cost Sensors

PowerSync calculates daily and month-to-date costs from the live price feed and measured energy.

Optimizer Sensors

Note: Price forecast sensors are most useful for dynamic pricing providers (Amber, Octopus Agile/Flux, AEMO, Flow Power, Localvolts, EPEX). Fixed-price providers still use known tariff periods for optimization.
