Steer 1.6.0
Download steer-1.6.0.apk below and install it on your Android phone. It bundles the watchapp — open it and tap Install watch app (pbw) to push Steer to your Pebble. (You can also grab steer-1.6.0.pbw directly.)
Update both halves. The 1.6.0 watchapp talks to the phone over PebbleKit 2 and needs the 1.6.0 phone app. If the Pebble / Core Devices app says Steer "needs a companion app", update the phone app from this page.
Improvements
- komoot support. Turn-by-turn from komoot (hiking and cycling) now shows on the watch — thanks to @sporkbyspork for the contribution (#19). komoot's notification carries no arrival time, so the ETA stays empty, and its "Turn around" warning isn't shown.
- PebbleKit 2. Steer now talks to the watch over PebbleKit 2, the modern link of the Pebble / Core Devices app, which Pebble apps that block the old PebbleKit (such as Gravel) require (#20). The old link remains as a fallback for the original Pebble app and older watchapp versions. While Steer is open on the watch, the Pebble app also keeps the phone app running, which helps Android leave it alone mid-drive.
- Pebble 2 Duo. The watchapp now includes a native build for the Pebble 2 Duo (flint).
Fixes
- Android 7. Starting a favourite from the watch no longer crashes on Android 7 when the phone has to show the tap-to-launch notification.
Watch platforms
