Failed Bitwarden inline popup

Description

After updating to Brave 1.91.171, Bitwarden inline autofill suggestions no longer appear on login fields.

The Bitwarden extension itself is working:

• Vault opens normally.
• Ctrl+Shift+L autofill works.
• Credentials are filled correctly.

Only the inline popup/suggestion menu never appears.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Brave 1.91.171
2. Install Bitwarden Password Manager extension (2026.5.1)
3. Enable "Show autofill suggestions on form fields"
4. Open https://github.com/login (or any login form)
5. Click the username field

Actual result

No popup appears.

Expected result

Bitwarden inline suggestions popup should appear.

• Fresh Brave profile
• Fresh Bitwarden installation
• Different Windows user account
• Browser password manager disabled
• Extension allowed on all sites

Ctrl+Shift+L still works normally.

Extension content scripts are loaded, but the autofill overlay is never injected into the page.

Extension console also reports:
Duplicate script ID 'fido2-page-script-registration'

Came here to report the same thing but will just tack on to this post. Brave 1.91.171 breaks Bitwarden's inline autofill. Works fine in Chrome. Tried disabling Shields with no effect. Tried a removal and reinstall of bitwarden, no effect. Tried Brave's privacy window with only bitwarden loading and no effect. Windows 11 25h2 (OS build 26200.8457

Confirm I have same issue on Brave.

Confirmed too (on linux ubuntu 24.04),
latest bitwarden extension (2026.5.1) and Brave
Brave 1.91.171 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 149.0.7827.103

Edited: I reverted to 1.91.168 and it works ok. Considering the release notes of 1.91.171, it can be related to the upgrade of Chromium.

Same issue for me on 1.91.171, for Brave and Brave Origin across Windows and Linux. 1.91.168 was working fine.

Confirmed on Fedora 43 KDE. Downgrading to an older version fixed this:

Rolling Brave back to 1.90.128 restores the functionality to the Bitwarden extension to allow autofill in webforms instead of having to use the extension directly.
